Hands-on tyre fitting role with team lead responsibility.

Interfit is looking for an experienced Tyre Fitter Team Lead to support our South Australian service team. You will work on the tools, help organise the team, and make sure jobs are completed safely, properly and on time.

This role suits a reliable, experienced fitter who can guide others, deal well with customers, and keep daily service work moving.

About the Role:

You will help lead the day-to-day service work for our South Australian team. This includes fitting tyres, helping other fitters, planning daily jobs, and making sure work is done safely and to a good standard.

You will work closely with the State Manager and be a key support for the fitting team in the field.

What You’ll Do:

  • Fit, repair, replace and inspect industrial tyres on customer sites and in the workshop.

  • Help plan the daily work schedule and make sure fitters know where they need to be, what jobs are urgent, and what needs to be completed.

  • Allocate work fairly across the team and help keep jobs moving during busy periods.

  • Lead by example in the field by working safely, doing quality work, and setting the right standard for the team.

  • Support other fitters when they need help, guidance, training or advice on a job.

  • Check that jobs are completed properly, safely and on time, with the right paperwork or job notes completed.

  • Help manage stock, tools, service vehicles and equipment so the team has what it needs to complete work.

  • Make sure service vehicles, tools and equipment are kept clean, safe and ready for work.

  • Help control avoidable costs by reducing rework, looking after equipment, and using time and materials properly.

  • Deal with customers in a professional way and help build strong working relationships with existing and prospective customers.

  • Look for ways to improve how jobs are done, including safety, speed, quality and customer service.

  • Keep the State Manager informed about safety issues, customer concerns, equipment problems, workload pressure, stock shortages or team matters.

What We’re Looking For:

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • Demonstrated experience as a Tyre Fitter within the industrial, construction, heavy equipment, mining, or material handling industries.

  • Proven ability to lead and support a small team in a field service environment.

  • Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.

  • Sound problem-solving and decision-making skills.

  • Ability to plan and organise daily workloads effectively.

  • Strong communication and customer service skills.

  • Ability to work independently while maintaining close communication with the State Manager.

  • Current driver's licence.

  • Experience using mobile technology, service management systems, and Microsoft Office applications.

Desirable Qualifications & Experience

  • Previous experience in a Leading Hand, Team Leader, or Supervisory role.

  • Forklift licence, HR licence, or other relevant equipment licences.
