Job Overview

The Finance Advisor plays a key role in ensuring the integrity and accuracy of the company’s financial reporting. This position is responsible for leading the month-end close process, preparing reconciliations, managing banking activities, overseeing tax compliance, and maintaining the fixed asset and lease portfolios. The role also supports the Financial Controller in external and internal audit engagements and contributes to continuous improvement of accounting processes and controls.

Responsibilities

Financial Closing & Reporting:

  • Lead month-end and year-end closing, ensuring accurate journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and timely financial reporting in compliance with accounting standards.

Audit & Compliance:

  • Coordinate with external and internal auditors, ensuring adherence to statutory requirements, JSOX controls, and corporate accounting policies.

Taxation & Statutory Obligations:

  • Manage the preparation and submission of all tax filings, including GST, FBT, and payroll tax, ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements.

Asset & Lease Management:

  • Maintain the fixed asset register and oversee lease accounting (IFRS 16), ensuring accurate capitalization, depreciation, disposals, and reporting.

Financial Planning & Process Improvement:

  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis, while identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Job Requirements 

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Commerce, or Business Administration from a recognized university or an equivalent professional qualification (CPA or CA would be a plus)
  • 3–5 years of relevant finance experience, especially within corporate accounting, financial reporting,
  • Detail-oriented and proficient in ERP systems (e.g. Infor M3) and SAP BPC.
  • Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting requirements.
  • Comfortable with financial reporting, treasury operations, tax compliance, and audit coordination.
  • Skilled in cross-functional collaboration, proactive, hands-on, strong problem-solving and critical-thinking with results-oriented, and continuous improvement mindset.
  • Advanced Excel proficiency, including pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis tools.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and meet strict deadlines.
