About the Job:

As the State Manager, you will spearhead the Operations and P&L responsibility for the assigned branches in Victoria and associated geographical area as defined from time to time. Primary responsibilities include as a minimum, the safe operation of all business activities, delivery of key financial targets, strict control of all inventories, management and motivation of personnel, the continuous development of sales opportunities, the delivery of defined service standards and the maintenance and safe operation of fixed and mobile assets.

You will be a pivotal leader who ensures consistency, quality, efficiency, and safety across Interfit operations in Victoria.

Key Responsibilities:

In this role, you will:

  • Provide a safe and compliant workplace
  • Deliver revenue and profits, meeting and exceeding budget and targets as set from time to time
  • Ensure the highest levels of customer service standards
  • Maintain strict inventory management controls to ensure ZERO stock losses
  • Provide clear direction, leadership and motivation to Branch personnel
  • Direct, plan and be engaged in all aspects of the business
  • Comply with all Yokohama TWS and Legislative policies and standards

EH&S focus:

  • Maintain an absolute focus on delivering a continuously safe working environment
  • Ensure that all staff members are suitably trained for the tasks they are performing
  • Ensure compliance from all team members to continually update SOP’s/JSA’s and sign off on same
  • Proactively ensure Branch housekeeping, quality and associated safety practices are maintained 100% of the time
  • Be seen and recognised as a ‘Safety Leader’ within the Branch and the wider YTWS business

Sales focus:

  • Develop monthly targeted sales strategies
  • Ensure Business Development personnel have structured activities
  • Provide weekly & monthly reporting on sales activities as required
  • Manage key customer national and local with Business Development personnel
  • Maintain regular visits to key accounts
  • Participate in, and suggest local and national marketing strategies
  • Develop, evolve and follow branch procedures

Customer Service focus:

  • Provide the highest level of customer service
  • Act as quality controller/advocate for the Branch
  • Deal with all issues in a timely manner

Operations focus:

  • Ensure that service cadence is maximised to ensure resources are properly utilised and KPIs are met
  • Ensure branch(es) are complying with operational process to ensure service delivery and stock security are held to the highest levels
  • Promote training and understanding processes and systems so execution errors are mitigated
  • Review operational processes and compliance with the view to ensure consistent delivery and constant improvement.

Financials focus:

  • Meet the monthly and annual Branch Sales, Gross Margin and EBIT Targets
  • Maintain strict control of all costs
  • Comply strictly with the Branch Managers Delegation of Authority
  • Develop strategies for revenue generation and cost improvements
  • Maintain strict compliance to YTWS pricing strategies
  • Conduct stock takes as and when required

HR focus:

  • Provide direction, motivation and leadership to personnel
  • Undertake periodical job reviews and ongoing performance discussions
  • Immediately report any issues in relation to breach of contract or breach of the YTWS code of conduct
  • All intended recruitment, dismissals or disciplinaries to be approved by head office in writing
  • Ensure all personnel have completed Trelleborg compliance training and this is documented

Key Requirements:

  • You’ll stand out if you bring:
    • Prior Branch Management experience preferred
    • Successful delivery of financial targets
    • Strong numerical skills
    • 10 years business experience in a branch network preferred
    • Commercially astute
    • Demonstrable skills in management of personnel and operations
    • Positive attitude, displaying a willingness to succeed
    • Technical understanding of the YTWS product line is preferred
    • Industrial customer knowledge & focus
    • Microsoft Office awareness particularly with Excel and Power Point
    • Demonstrable record of managing fast paced and complex business unit or operations
    • Positive appearance, attitude and demeanour
